OUTREACH:

 

The 12 Step Host for Wednesday, May 23rd, is Steven Payne.   Additional 12 Steps volunteers are needed – particularly on May 30.  To help out, please contact Ed Street at ed.street@suntrust.com.   

 

CARITAS is June 9 - 16! Look for sign-up sheets in the Parish Hall this Sunday, May 20th.  Our annual picnic will be a cookout here at church on Sunday, June 10th, 6pm with our CARITAS guests. Bring a salad, side or dessert to share!  Fun and fellowship for all!

 

Calling All Desserts! Donations are needed for the dessert table at this year’s Annual Fan Free Clinic Spaghetti Dinner scheduled for Thursday, May 24th at 6:00 PM.  Any home baked or store bought desserts would be very much appreciated.    If you can contribute, please email Bill Crowder at Bill.Crowder@anthem.com or call him at 363-3832 to let him know what kind of dessert you can provide.  And – come for dinner!!!!! Joe’s Inn Spaghetti (meat or marinara), salad and bread for only $8.00 per person.  The afore mentioned wonderful desserts for $1 or $2 extra!

 

Food Pantry/Soup Ministry:   Please remember the food pantry when you shop!  Canned meats, hearty soups & stews, canned pasta, crackers, granola bars, juice and water, mac & cheese mix, fruit - we can use it all!

Soup Kitchen: We need help with distribution and serving the meal on Saturday, May 26th.  We can always use extra hands, and donations of bread and fresh fruit - especially bananas and oranges are welcome on the Second and Fourth Saturdays of the month. 

Volunteers are always welcome for distributing bags of food/preparation of meals/or clean-up.  Hours are 8:45 to 10:45 am on the 2nd/4th Saturdays of the month. Have some free time on Fridays?  Grace & Holy Trinity serves lunch to those in need every Friday at noon. Cooking and set up happens between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, they serve between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM and clean-up is undertaken from 1:45 PM to 2:30 PM. You can come for all or part of this ministry. Please contact the Rev. Michael Cadaret at GHTC to volunteer or for more information.

 
ST. MARK’S NOTES:

 Bishop’s Visit:  May 27th.  Please let the office know if you would like to be confirmed or received.  Sign up to bring a treat for the reception to follow the 10:30 service!

 Let’s Go Bowling!  Sunday, June 3, 2-4pm at Sunset Lanes on Broad Street.  $16.99 per person includes shoes and all the games you can bowl in two hours – reserved lanes and bumpers for the kids!   RSVP to Malinda by May 27.

 

VBS is June 25 – 27, 6:00 – 7:30 pm!  Please plan to join us for a wonderful time (Monday – Wednesday evenings) in June.  We’ll hear the Gospel story in a new way – through the Parable of the Sower – a story Jesus told to explain what the Kingdom of God was like.  Enrollment is open to children ages pre-K (4 year olds) – 5th  grade (10-11 year olds).  Costs for the program are as follows: 1 child: $25, 2 or more children in a family: $20 each; dinner for adults: $5.  Volunteers get a free dinner!  Registration forms will be available in the parish offices on May 1.  Please register your child no later than June 1.
