So,
welcome, In the Name of Christ Jesus!
Welcome to St. Mark's, where our sole Joy is to worship before God our Father as living members of the Body of his Son through the Holy Spirit we share in Him, that we may proclaim in human words and actions that all things have been reconciled to God in Him--- that "All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well."
We invite you to really explore our web site to learn more about our hope in God's call to you and all of us, about our Communion of churches, our Clergy and People, our ministries and our staff.
Small,
Diverse, Grateful
Yes we are small in number, but though Small, we are a Diverse congregation, Grateful to serve the community and support one another, in Christ.
Our
Vision:
By the Grace of God, St. Mark's will
- embody the Good News in Christ; centered in worship, dedicated to service, inclusive in community.
- bear witness to God's abundant love for creation by opening the door to all persons wherever they may be on their journey of faith.
- seek to offer hospitality and respect the dignity of every human being in our life and work together.
- welcome all whom God calls to the table of the Lord.

We
are a Parish
Church
St. Mark's is, in reality, but a part (hence the word "Parish") of The Church of Virginia. With our sister parishes we are one Flock under one Shepherd (Latin: Pastor), who has "oversight" of the Church. In Greek, one who "over-sees" is an episcopos, or in Old English, biscop.
The Rt. Rev. Shannon Sherwood Johnston the Diocesan and The Rt. Rev. David Colin Jones, Bishop Suffragan, his Suffragan or helper bishop. Both of our Bishops are "in co union with," hence, "communion" with, other Bishops who with their People are called
Who
was St. Mark?
Our church is named for our John Mark, an early missionary, church leader and the author of the second Gospel. Mark was the son of Mary in whose house the Jerusalem believers met to pray when Peter was imprisoned by Herod Agrippa I (Acts 12:12). Mark served as a companion to Paul and Barnabas on their missionary journeys and was referred to by Peter as his "son." Paul called him a "useful helper" (2 Tim 4:11) and so we seek to be in our community today. Thank you for visiting with us and let us know how we may be of help to you.
